Research Work

Study on the efficacy and the safety of proton therapy:

Proton therapy is provided as “Advanced Medicine A” which is a designation included in the “Standardized Therapeutic Strategy” approved by all the proton therapy facilities nationwide. We are making it sure that all the cases are registered and the follow-up examinations are provided periodically, aiming at inclusion in the Japanese national health insurance listing.

Proton therapy has been included in the national health insurance listing since 2016 for pediatric cancer treatment, and it is supposed to be provided based on the application criteria precisely determined by the Cancer Board organized together with the Shizuoka Children’s Hospital. We are ready to provide it for the cases where the efficacy and the safety are projected, collaborating with the Division of Pediatrics.
