At the Shizuoka Cancer Center, Proton Therapy has been provided since October, 2003.

So far, 2,913 cancer patients have been treated with proton therapy since October, 2003 until March, 2023. About 60% of these patients have had the therapy for their cancers listed in the Japanese public medical insurance coverage, such as pediatric cancer and prostate gland cancer.

• Examples of the cancers having been treated at the Proton Therapy Center:

prostate gland cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, pediatric cancer, cancer in the head and neck region, bone and soft tissue tumor, tumor in the brain and spinal cord, etc.
